Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I last styled an outfit and illustrated it; the reason being that I lacked motivation and/or inspiration. Sometimes I get bursts of inspiration and my energy hits the roof, allowing me to simultaneously work on college assignments as well as several outfits and even side projects. Other times, I’m really lacking any inspiration at all and instead take long breaks to really be able to get back to things. I guess this is the design process, or flow, no?
Aside from that, I’ve really been trying to enjoy the last couple of days of this mini vacation before my fourth semester begins. Time flies, doesn’t it. I’ve also been watching some of the Paris Couture Week shows live online (the power of the Internet!), which is definitely my favorite fashion week of all. You really get to appreciate fine craftsmanship, detailed embellishments and embroidery and delicate works of art. So far Giambattista Valli takes the cake for me, what with the pastel ruffles and bursts of dainty florals, followed closely by Chanel, which cleverly used honeycombs for the hems and punctuated each piece with 60’s inspired vinyl boots.
Now, for today’s outfit, I started out with these grey Asos high waist jeans. I’m not really a jeans person, but a white pair really speaks volumes and can be dressed up or down according to your styling. I kept the entire outfit somewhat minimal in really light tones, but it just didn’t feel quite right until I added the final touch with these Chloé red ‘Suzanna’ booties. And bam, it all fell into place. I’m aware they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, and they’re one of these pieces that you will either absolutely love or absolutely loathe – no in between. But this is fashion, isn’t it? And it’s not fun if we don’t experiment. Well, I do hope you guys like the outfit!
