An Extravagant Affair

Hello there lovely people! I know, it’s been an incredibly long time since I last posted (over two weeks!), and I have a good excuse for that. My college finals are due these couple of weeks so I was very busy trying to organize my time, work on everything, and perform not just quickly but with quality. These sorts of breaks actually help as fuel as I am prepared to post some fresh and exciting new content for you guys, so watch this space for more!

Anyway, as we all know, the festive season is among us, and let me just say that it is probably my ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE time of the year. Sparkles everywhere, the infamous glittery red, gold and silver tones and the really lively spirit. I had the chance to attend a friend’s choir in a hotel a week ago in which they sang Christmas songs – and I honestly felt goosebumps. It somehow reminded me of one of my favorite movies, Home Alone 2 (in a good way of course). Oh, if it would be Christmas all year.

Aside from that, here in Egypt it also happens to be wedding season, and I decided to ride the wave while it’s still going to style a wedding gown. For today’s outfit, I chose to style a gown by the late Oscar De La Renta. It’s quite the masterpiece. Oscar De La Renta is known for his lavish pieces, all intricately made with the most delicate fabrics. As soon as I saw the gown on Loverly, I knew it was it. It looks simple from afar but once you really concentrate, you find there’s so much details to it. Let’s just say this is something along the lines of what I would wear on my big day (one day!). The high neck just screams elegance and the trumpet silhouette just makes whoever wears it so much more confident. Since the gown is a statement by itself, I kept the accessories somewhat toned down.

I opted for a pair of dangle earrings since jewelry would be minimal, a gorgeous Bony Levy diamond ring, and of course a pair of silver, simple Jimmy Choos to complete the look. I’d imagine the wedding to be somewhere in Scotland in a lavish castle garden. The wedding would be glamorous with gold, white and pinks all around and a marquee for the event. As for the reception, well, the castle would play a big role. Quite a wedding that would be. I hope you guys like the look!
