New Year’s Outfit: Heart of Gold

Here we go with the third and final outfit from the New Year themed illustrations! I deliberately left the best look for last, seeing as it’s the most elegant of all three outfits. Usually when one thinks of New Year outfits, sparkles, sequins and shiny details spring to mind. This is a misconception, though, as even the simplest dress could make the boldest statement. If styled correctly, a delicate gown could also do the trick of standing out, in this case this beautiful, navy Valentino embroidered tulle gown from their 2014 resort collection. The Italian fashion house never fails to impress with its ethereal demeanor and perfectly detailed embroidery that punctuates the designs.

I knew I had to style it as soon as I spotted it on Net-A-Porter (also, be sure to check out their major sale which is up 70% off. Aquazzura heels for 60% off and a Chloé tote for 30% off? Yes please..). Now, when it came to styling the gown, I extracted one prominent color from the dress and continued from there. Gold was the most suitable, so I used that for jewelry, albeit keeping it minimal, and clutch. I hope you guys like this outfit! Happy new year everyone! Thank you all for reading and for your constant support on Instagram.
